CompTIA Certifications

CompTIA A+
To obtain the CompTIA A+ certification the candidate must pass two exams: The CompTIA A+ 220-901 and CompTIA A+ 220-902. The exams covers PC hardware and peripherals, mobile device hardware, introduction to networking, troubleshooting hardware and networks, configuring operating systems such as Windows, Linux, Android, Apple OS.

It also introduces fundamentals and operational procedures in security, cloud computing. CompTIA A + is one of the most popular certification for those who want to start their career in IT.

 
COMPTIA Network+
(current version N10-006 exam)
This certification is the second most popular for those that concluded the A+. It focuses on the networks architecture  and understanding its foundation, hardware, installation, wired and wireless network devices, mobile, cloud, and virtualization technologies. Using dedicated applications and troubleshoot technics normally found in real work environments.
The Network+ is a must have certificate for those who want to ingress to the IT Career. The length of the exam is 90 minutes and required passing score is 720 (on a scale of 100 to 900).

COMPTIA Security+
(Current version SY0-401 exam).
It involves cryptography for network security, system infrastructure, threats and vulnerabilities procedures, access control, data and host security, business-related studies, disaster recovery and risk management and the role of assessments and audits.
CompTIA Security+ exam passing score is 750 out of 900.
 
COMPTIA Server+
(Current version SK0-004 exam)
The CompTIA Server+ is a mid-level certificate directs people who wish to acquire general knowledge in areas such as RAID, SCSI, and multiple CPUs, hardware server, installation, configuration, upgrading, maintenance, troubleshooting techniques and disaster recovery in a server environment.
 
The length of the exam is 90 minutes and required passing score is 750 (on a scale of 100 to 900).
 
CompTIA Linux+
CompTIA Linux+ is a certification of knowledge of Linux operating system, installation, management, configuration, security, documentation, and hardware. Covering and appliance of free software and open source licenses.

The Linux+ certificate a widely recognized by large organizations such as the U.S. Navy, Dell, HP, BAE Systems, Northrop Grumman and the U.S. Department of Defence employ CompTIA Linux+ Powered by LPI certified IT professionals.
 
Comprised of two exams (LX0-103 and LX0-104), candidates must pass LX0-103 before taking LX0-104. Each exam is 60 questions and 90 minutes length. The passing rate is 500 on a scale of 200 to 800.
 
Note: The A+, Network+ and Security+ are valid for the period of three years. Certified individuals have to re-pay to take the exams and extend them validation after expired.
