We all know the pain of looking for a job, lucky
for some IT guys its not really that hard as there has always been a high
demand for someone who actually knows what they’re doing when sitting at a
computer trying to solve an issue and not just turning it off and back on again
and with the IT department growing massively over the last couple of years,
its
still not at its peak, there will always be people looking for someone who
knows what they're with computers so if you want some motivation to get up and
find a sweet, well paying job in the IT department? Well this is for you!
I will be giving a brief overview of each job,
Including, what you need to know and the big question, Earnings.
If you’re going job hunting or just looking for
something to spark your interest in IT then hopefully this is for you!
1.Computer
Systems Analyst:
Here we have our
trusty Computer Systems Analyst, With an unemployment rate of 2.5% you
are sure enough to keep the job for a long time if you know what to do and do
it well, which includes knowing:
Designing and
developing computer systems, and you have to know your stuff when it comes to
Hardware, Software and Networks, You will also need good people skills or you
will probably be told to hit the road as talking to management, users and
developers etc is a huge part of this job.
Now for what you need
education wise for this job is the following: You need a Bachelors degree
as they are required, you might want to get that masters degree though
as some companies may ask for to see it.
You also require a
Common degree in Computer Science
As well as Information
Systems.
Well, if you have all
that well done, and with a salary of $73.000 You just couldn’t go wrong
if you’re good at IT and have the requirements.
Ok so, the first job
not for you? Don’t worry there’s plenty more to choose from and I’ll be going
the 12 best, and next on my list is the ever so wonderful
Software Developer:
These guys are
wonderfully hardworking and always know their stuff, these people are behind
nearly everything you use today, like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Youtube
as well as Online Banking and so much more, you will never be bored being one
of these guys, these guys spend endless hours creating software then they also
test the software as well as maintaining the software after its been released.
With a low unemployment rate of 4% you wont be short of work, that’s one
thing, for many companies a bachelors degree is preferred but not required so
don’t panic about it if you don’t have one, you basically just need to know
what you’re doing and be very good and quick at it, and with a salary of
$92.000 I’m sure its worth it.
Next on the list we
have something that is really interesting and if you know your stuff you will
love.
Mechanical Engineer
With
this being the age of machines and people talking about robots taking over well
Mechanical Engineers are the brilliant minds behind most items. Using
multiple tools and skills to help them be successful they go through a process
of Research design, computers, as well as building all sorts of machines and
testing them too the use of industrial equipment is not uncommon either.
You
will need a Bachelors degree and if you’re hungry for that management role you
will need a Masters degree
You
must also pass a state exam which is required in all 50 states of
America.
But
a salary of $82.000 might push you into becoming a Mechanical Engineer.
Cloud
Architect
With
the cloud being today most popular and secure source of storage its no wonder
these guys made the list as this is a really well paying job.
Cloud
architects are the organizer and developer of the computing space that is
available within the cloud one of the most advanced storage systems by far and
thanks to these guys keeping it all
problem free for us to use!
Useful
for companies who wish to move everything from a physical form to a cloud based
solution.
You
will work a lot with business analysts to make sure everything is in line with
the business requirements.
You
need to be available most of the time too.
You
may also require the following:
A
bachelors degree, and a certification for cloud computing are both needed for
this type of job.
But
with a whopping salary of $112.000
Web developer
A
web developers job is to create web pages, web apps and content they are always
writing thousands of words of code a day and must have good communication
skills as they will always be working with management to get their ideas
Keeping
in the loop is also a huge part of this job with trends changing it is very
important to make sure you keep updating what ever the new trend maybe as the
internet is never going to stop changing
If
you wish to become a web developer you don’t really need a degree, although
they are really good to have and boost the chance of you getting the job, most
Web developers are self taught and have a decent portfolio to obtain work.
Also
with a salary of $90.000 Im sure it makes it all worth it.
IT Consultant
So,
personally I think an IT Consultant is probably one of the most important jobs
to have if you are a business, as they make their systems run great and
efficiently, they also evaluate systems and preform research a bachelors degree
is necessary and having a certification too is always helpful for your own sake
Mobile
Application Developer
The people who
develop mobile apps are very patient people, as they create and design
applications for iOS
And for Android
devices
App developers are
nearly never turned away from a job and are never going to be out of work as
they are always needed.
You may need a
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science but not always necessary as many
professionals learned themselves.
Their salary is also
$90.000 for all that hard work.
Network
Engineer
Network engineers
design and implement computer networks in a workplace they have to focus on
design and planning instead of day-to-day support which can be annoying. They also must be able to setup LAN, WAN,
Internet and intranet components.
A bachelors degree is necessary, but a masters
degree is probably more ideal.
These guys go through
hell to learn about this stuff and are rewarded by a Salary of $91.000.
IT
Programme/Project Manager
These guys make sure
everything is running smooth and all the objectives are met and executed upon,
they have an understanding in both Business and IT best practice is necessary
for a project manager
A bachelors degree in
computer science or business will help you secure this position immensely.
With a salary of
$68.000 you cant really argue with that.
Computer
Forensic Investigator
These guys are
basically the FBI of the business, they gather information off of computer and
look for evidence to a trail. They must dive into a computer system going
through basically everything to evaluate important items.
You need some sort of
a degree in Digital Forensics, Information security, Computer Forensic
certifications are also available and will probably help you secure that job
you’ve been hoping to get.
With a salary of
$64.000 a year and the bonus of feeling like a secret agent, you cant go wrong.
Database
administrator
They make sure your
companies data is organized, accurate available and secure.
You require a
Bachelors degree in Computer science , Computer engineering, Database
administration.
And with a salary of
$82.000 I'm sure you’ll push yourself to work.
Health
Information Technician
These guys keep all
patients electronic records complete accurate accessible and most importantly,
secure.
For education in this
sector an associates degree is all that is required for entry level but if you
want to climb to ladder then I suggest a masters degree in Health information
management.
