The Educational Training Boards (ETB) offer a range of courses in Information Technology (IT)  at their training centres nationwide.
 
Prospective students can choose general entry level courses covering topics introducing Office Computer Applications which require very little experience or knowledge of IT to JAVA , Oracle and  Microsoft specific courses.
The courses vary in length from 14 to 30 weeks and are mostly full daytime courses. Course time is balanced between tutorials, practical work and study time. Course delivery is by experienced IT professionals using up to date technologies and equipment.
The courses will give the student a foundation to build a new career in the IT industry. For those students with IT knowledge and experience prior to commencing the courses they can enhance their experience with certified skills on completion of the courses. The qualifications are graded within National Qualifications Framework guidelines and some specific courses are certified to  international IT industry standards.
 
A common module provided as part of every course is Career planning and job seeking skills. This module is given towards the end of each course.
Depending on the Qualifications that have been achieved by the student, he/she can utilise these  to access further courses in the educational system. With suitable work experience and knowledge the student can also use the qualifications to springboard his/herself to further career opportunities in the IT sector.
